In life there's things that seems to be beyond you real world, things that you always dream about but never imagine them becoming truth. There's images, scenarios and situations that appears to be created only for watching them through a 42" frame. NY city have been recreated so many time in the history of media that you can idealize it. In fact, every single relevant event narrated by the cinematography industry uses NY as scenario. If there's a nuclear war is in NY where it begins, if aliens attack is NY the first target, if a terrible pandemic disease threats the humankind is not hard to find out where the outbreak took place, NY.
Visiting NY was the most exiting thing that I've done. For me being there was like to participate in an movie, all those skyscrapers and old buildings mixed together, thing that I recalled many times from lots of film, made me fell as if a was in a sketch. Was just there, right next to Empire state building, where I acknowledge the greatest of the mankind. I felt so insignificant standing aside it and at the same time I realized that there's nothing impossible for men to accomplish.
There was 4:00 pm when we finished our daily labor. The car that we had rented in lunch time was waiting impatiently for us, that black Nissan Sentra looked great for our purpose, fuel efficient and cheap, however we turn concerned when we inspect its inner space. We were four in a trip of more than twenty hour and staying in that reduce space for than long, could cause us a claustrophobic sensation. Anyway, there were no choice rather than stand that situation or quit on our trip, of course the second one was unacceptable.

Only stopping by my house to pick up our luggage, we hit the road around 5 pm; heading north in the I-95 interstate road, starting what could be one of the longest days of my life. Was July 3th and we were planing to arrive to our destination, more than one thousand miles away from our starting point, by July 4th no later than noon, so we had to economize the stops and leave then only for eating or going to bath.
Leaving Florida was literally a pain in the ass, took us almost six hours to see the big poster announcing "Welcome to Georgia". Florida is not only the longest state in the eastern coast is also the most boring one. The other states passed without major problems, the only thing that impress me was the weather change; the temperature became nicer as we were advancing toward north. I think that it was the reason why the vegetation turned greener and higher; we started seeing Pine trees, something that in Florida is rare to find.
Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia and the others went through within an aye blink until when.... finally, after 21 hours over our shoulder and without sleeping in all that long the first traffic signal with a big "New York"appeared, we were there and no of us could believe it.

Definitely we were tired more than 24 hour awake is not an easy one, but the adrenaline generated from the fact of seeing in the distance the Statue of Liberty was enough for keeping our eyes wide open. I still remember when I saw it, I yelled the loudest "Cojo......" ever.

Finally, we reached our destination point, an old building made of bricks, located in a picturesque zone of Queens not to far from the metro station. The building had the typical suburbial newyorkian style, six or seven floors, the air conditioner machines hanging out from the windows and of course an old rusted external fire stair.
After taking a short nap, we went to the metro station planing to take the train toward Manhattan. There where the real story began. I had never seen before so many buildings together, all of them reaching or exceeding 40 floors, I felt completely overwhelmed. I couldn't help taking photos at every single skyscraper , I had to immortalize that moment no matter what. People stared at us, presumably because of our funny attitude. Every body noticed that we didn't belong to there, we were there "Los Wajiros".
Unfortunately the moment of going back to town arrived, sooner than we expected. I said town because that's what Miami is compared to NY. Back in Miami without any inconvenient and tired as hell, I felt a mixture of joy and melancholy for living my dream so intense but at the same time waking up too soon.
